Principal’s Message

Dear Parents,

Welcome to Cedars International Academy! We’re excited to be a project-based learning elementary campus this school year. We are one of four New Tech Network Elementary campuses in the State of Texas.  

Cedars International Academy is a project-based learning, open enrollment, tuition-free public charter school serving grades PK - 8th. We are a small community of teachers, staff, and families committed to preparing children for the future. With high academic expectations, we build on strengths of each child. Cedars International Academy has been a T.E.A. “Recognized” Campus (2010 - 2012), “Met Standard” Charter School with Distinctions (2013 - 2016), and a “B” Charter School District (2017 - 2019). 

As a New Tech Network Academy our curriculum is based on Project and Problem-Based Learning instructional approaches that align with Texas state standards. Cedars partnered with New Tech Network to support creating an innovative learning environment. Teachers facilitate cross-curricular projects which allows flexibility to support students individually and in collaborative groups. Project-based learning allows students to be more creative throughout the learning process. 

Cedars International Academy builds strong, trusting relationships while teaching social and emotional learning.  We implement a positive behavior system and curriculum that teaches children how to value and respect others. Students are taught how to regulate their emotions and various ways to solve problems.

Cedars International Academy has a culture based on Trust, Respect, Responsibility, and Integrity with an extensive emphasis on core Student Learning Outcomes which include: Knowledge & Thinking, Agency, Collaboration, Oral Communication, and Written Communication. We create challenges and activities based on our core values through a House System. Students are inducted into a House when they become a Cedars International Academy Jaguar student.
